Dorset Amy Hopwood
Community musician

Amy is a singer-songwriter, with two released albums and regular gigs in pubs and at festivals. She plays tenor guitar and sings and has a wide repertoire from folk to music hall and pop. She is a Natural Voice Network Practitioner, meaning she has undertaken a week-long residential training in leading community singing groups. Amy is looking to develop community based music programmes. She has a particular interest in projects relating to oral history and memories, palliative care, loneliness and building people’s confidence and their ability to sing and enjoy music. She is open to discuss any project ideas in any settings. Amy works part-time as a Policy Manager for the Care Quality Commission, (with a particular focus on safety culture), which means she is very familiar with the health and social care sector and the benefits of music in these settings. She also has experience of running Lottery funded oral history projects in her local community, with the underlying aim of combating the loneliness and isolation experienced by some older people.
